Unbroken
Laura Hillenbrand
pg. 150

One internal conflict in this book is when Louie has to overcome adversity before the olympics. He was a troubled child and he was a thief. He changed his ways by taking up running. He looked up to his brother and he started to go toward the right path. He started running and training all of the time. I think this was the right thing for him to do. If he would have continued his ways then there is no way he could have made it to the olympics. One external conflict is when Louie is aboard the Green Hornet and it breaks down in the sky and they have to land in the ocean. Louie had to struggle to get out of the plane so he didn't drown and he also had to try to save his crew. He struggled to save his crew, and some of them even died. He had to start to do things for himself and try to survive on his own. I think this was the best he could do. If he would have kept trying to help everyone else then he would have died himself.

  1. What is the Green Hornet? Does it have anything to do with the new movie coming out with Seth Rogan?

  2. Nope, Denton. The Green Hornet is the name of his aircraft. During WWII, each flight unit chose an appropriate name for their airplane that represented it and its crew.
