Chloe Doe
Suzanne Phillips
Done with book
The title of this book fits very well. Chloe ran away from home when she was about 13, because her step-father abused and killed her older sister Camille. Her mother knew what had been happening and did nothing about it. So Chloe left. She gave up her old last name and chose Doe. It's a name used to call bodies that are found and can't be identified. Chloe thinks she's a nobody. The Forgotten could be another title, since Chloe has been completely forgotten by her mother. She called her mother a few weeks after she left and she hung up on Chloe. How To Move On could also be an alternate title, since Chloe is trying to move on from her life on the streets to a better one somewhere else.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I think the title fits the book really well. One of the main characters is a girl with many tattoos including one with a dragon. She is a very odd girl, but extremely smart. Eventually as the story progresses she will be the leading person on the case they are investigating, so it is an appropriate title. It could be called "Thirty years of flowers" because in the opening scene an old man receives the 30th flower from the anonymous person just like all the years before. It could also be called "Blomkvist" because that is one of the other main characters and it is a slightly catchy name.

The Invisible Man
by H.G. Wells
2-27-11
I think the title of the book is a great one. It fits with the plot and the main character, who is an invisible man. If I had to pick two alternate titles I would choose Invisible, or The Unseen. They both describe the characters predicament and fit with the plot.

Properties of Water
Hannah McKinnon
P. 78
The one aspect that I would change about my book would be that Lace wouldn't be afraid of the lake, or any type of water. If she was able to get back into swimming she would be able to overcome what has been holding her back since the summer Marni left. Whatever happened that summer was really bad, and the author just revealed that Marni had to have treatment. So I'm thinking cancer, or some disease. I'm not sure though. I would want to change this because maybe she would be able to help her dad through it too and be a stronger, less vulnerable person. Her dad and her would have a must stronger relationship and maybe she would go and visit her sister, Marni and her mother. Her grandparents would see a more confident girl and I'm pretty sure she would get all the guys. She's smart and is a great athlete, and changing whatever is holding her back from getting in that lake would only benefit her to greater heights.

English 3. Mrs.Sheffield. Dear John. By Nicholasis Sparks.

I would change the fact with Ronnie and her dad. Ronnie to not be so mean to her mom, brother, and her dad. I want Ronnie to play the piano again, even though her father left them. She is good and needs to learn to play for herself and not for anybody. With Ronnie being nice, would change the whole moral of the story line. If Ronnie was nice, then she would be a goody toosho through it all.

I would make the book not change point of view so much because it sometimes gets so convincing i cant handle it. It sometimes changes topics so quickly and a chapter may only be a couple sentences or a paragraph long.

If I could change one aspect of my book it would be the sport my main character participates in. He is a tri-athlete. I would rather have a sport that I play or am interested in. It is kind of hard to stay interested in such an unpopular sport. I must admit I do watch the ironman competition on television.

Lord of the kill

I would not change anything in this book. It was fine the way it is. There are no boring parts and the author gets right to the point.

If I could change one aspect of my book it would be that the children don't have anywhere to call home or go to. I feel that if they had a home they would all be much stronger. I'd make the change for them, because they all deserve parents to go to and a place to call home. This change would provide the main characters with more strength than they have, because their self confidence is low from all the bad things that have happened to them. These bad things consist of; being taken from their parents at birth, held captive in a laboratory called "the school", and being chased by wolf-men called erasers. Having a place to call home would also give them more comfortability around normal humans, since the kids have wings and all.

If I could change one thing about this book I would change the fact that Taylor doesn't open up that much and keeps things to himself. I am somebody thats likes to know everything about whats going on, so the fact that Taylor is hiding his past, and won't talk about it would furstate me. If this change did happen though this book wouldn't be that good. Because Taylor is hiding his past makes the book more interesting and exciting. It makes me what to read more, so i can find out what happened. So even though i would like this to change and him to tell more, I also think that it is good that he doesn't because it makes the book good and interesting.

If I had to change anything about this book is that Billy moving all the way to London. I would change this cause in the book it was like he was looking forward on going there but when he got there he just hated it.Everything was different and he had to get a different job and that effective him even though he was still in school it effected him. Billy got the same jhob that he had before as a paperboy but it was way to different people didn't really care about him unlike michagen people did.So yeah those are some reasons why i would change aboutr this book

p. 1- 25

The beginning starts out by describing an officer and how he is new to his job, but he needs to focus because there is a hurricane occuring and victims are calling into the station. They need as many officers that are willing to help protect their citizens. I would not have began the story this way because I think it takes away from describing the characters, and it does not provide a good character sketch of the main character. Also, the chaos caused from the main event right now, which is a hurricane, is entertaining, but I do not see how the author will be able to keep his audience entertained. I am hoping he proves me wrong because overall I really like this book so far!

I wouldn't change anything in my book because it is nonfiction. There are things that I would like to have happened to benefit Louie, but it would have changed everything that has happened. I don't believe that you can change anything in a story that actually happened. You can't change the setting because it was in a war and if it changed they would be somewhere where the war wasn't. You can't change the characters because it would have changed the plot. I don't think the story needs to be changed. It is already interesting to me and it is fine the way it is.

If i would change anything in my book it would be sam, molly's best friend. I think that it would be way more realistic if her best friend would be a girl. I think that sam would be a better friend if he was a girl. Then i think we would get more insight on molly's thoughts. With him being a guy this restricts what we know about molly because she does not tell him as much. This would change the mood of the book.

Night Tales: Night Shift
By Nora Roberts
Pg. 1 t0 153

My book involves a woman named Cilla who works for KHIP radio. She works the night shift which is why the book is called Night Shift. The one part about my book that I would change would be the fact that she works on the night shift. I would change her shift to the morning. Since she is being stalked and threatened by an anonymous man, that would make it harder for him to stalk her. I think that would make the book more interesting and more detailed even though it is very detailed as it is right now. The man calls her every night during her shift and threatens her and will keep threatening her until she cracks. When she cracks, he feels satisfied. The man would have to call and show his face in the day time which might make it easier for him to be identified. It would change the setting a little bit, but it would effect the plot the most.

Catching fire

by Suzanne Collins

pgs 150-168

if I could change any aspect of the book it would be the love aspect so that she would know her feelings about Peeta and Gale and have them straight instead of thinking she is in love with one one moment than in love with the other the next. i would change that because the charcter would not change her mind so many times and she would do what she wanted to do to make the book more interesting and because it gets confusing. it would change the story by knowing if she actually pulled out the berries because she loved peeta or just to defie the capitoland start a riot.
Walking up a rainbow
By Theodore Taylor
Pg 102

If I could change it would be the speed the book goes. It is really slow and takes a long time to get one point across. The author spends to much time on little details. The minor characters are described in to much detail and if a character is mad at another one they take a whole page to explain it.
Dewey
Vicki Myron

If I could change one thing about this book, it would be all the background information they give you. It alternates chapters. First they tell you a story about Dewey, describing his personality and how he interacts with others, then they next chapter is background information on Iowa, Spencer, or Vicki herself. Although this stuff is important and affects some of the plot line, the way it is described is so boring. After reading those chapters, I can't usually remember what I just read. I would change that because it makes the book boring. It would affect the plot line and make the book's only character Dewey, which would also be boring. I guess no matter what the books going to be boring.
No Second Chance
Harlan Coben
pg. 274
If I could chance one aspect, I would want the pace of the book to go faster. The book is very interesting and you want to know what is happening next, but it takes the author so long to add some suspense. The author spends alot of time focusing on the character's thoughts. If the pace were to change, then more stuff would be left out of the book. For example, you wouldn't have as much insight into the minds of the characters.

If you could change one aspect of your book, what would it be? Explain why you would make that change and how that change would affect the other elements of the book.

I would have more clues leading to where Darcy is. That is supposed to be the plot of the book, but they don't do anything about that until the very end. I might have clues like Darcy could leave behind evidence hinting to who it was or have them investigate more. Also they would actually follow through with finding the evidence and they would explore a lot more then they do. That way the book would be a lot more interesting and more action filled, because the way it is it kind of just rambles on until the end when they actually do something about finding Darcy. It affects other aspects because they would come closer to finding where she is and they would probably suspect each other and they might turn on each other for a while.
Watership Down
Richard Adams
pg. 460

I would make the final war between the Efrafan rabbits and the Watership rabbits more action packed. As it is it's kind of anticlimactic. I was kind of expecting blood and gore and rabbits tearing other rabbits apart, and all that really happened was a fight between Bigwig and Woundwort, and Woundwort being killed by a dog. It wouldn't really change the story, because Woundwort would still die and the Watership Down rabbits would still win the war, it would just be a more exciting climax.
Beautiful Creatures
Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Pg. 107
The one thing I would like to change about my book is to make it keep going when they have flashbacks. They are packed in between actual time. Every time it gives me a flashback though it doesn't seem to finish the whole idea and doesn't tell everything. Also the characters in the flashbacks aren't the same ones as the characters in actual time. This makes it rather confusing because I don't understand how the current time characters can flash back to times they weren't part of. Of course this is probably just a way to keep the suspense rolling! So if it were to change I probably wouldn't like it. If they told the whole story right away there wouldn't be a point. I am excited to hear the rest of the book unfold in its suspenseful and confusing ways.

Youth in Revolt
C.D. Payne
Beginning of book

If I could change one aspect of the book, I would change how the main character, Nick goes back and forth with himself. I find it very confusing and hard to follow. I guess it is the whole point of the book, but I find it frustrating. The book is based on a kid who has a good side, and a bad side. Just like everyone else. He focuses on them both instead of just one or the other. I would change it so it was more noticable which side he was talking about. I dont really know how it would change the other elements in the book, because I just began reading it, but I know it would make it a lot easier to understand.

If I could change one aspect of my book, I would make the plot include more basketball. There is a lot of flashbacks to previous times telling about the players lives. There is too much description in some parts. For instance, Ridley is trying to get a scholarship to play for a division I school, and has to play in front of a bunch of scouts. And the author tries to hard to describe that process. Then he tells of other players who he has coached that had to do that. By the time it gets back to the action, you don't know what is going on in the book. There is also a lot of description on the parents of the athletes. It goes in depth on how one of the players was raised, then it goes into even more depth on how the parent was raised and what happened in their life. If there was more basketball, it would make the plot more enjoyable. If it would talk more about individual games, rather than the stuff behind the scenes, it would flow better.

I would change the fact that the kid Nick was filling in for, did not get better, therefore he would have still played. That would have kept the book going because it kind of came to a sudden stop. After Nick had played bad, they some how beat the best team to end the book. They sent Nick back to jv and I think they should of had more games with him at the varsity spot. They maybe could have also had Nick not been adopted to see how a better relationship with actual parents would have affected his schooling and basbeall season. It seems like with college professors as his adoptee parents, its just not as fun for him.
Chloe Doe
Suzanne Phillips
pg. 105
I would change how the author describes the characters. The story is told from the point of view of the main character, Chloe. The author doesn't have her really think about how a person looks, so you don't get the image of the person until you've seen them a couple of times. Like the psychiatrist she is seeing. You meet him a few different times throughout the book, but it's not until the middle of their 1st meeting when you're told (very vaguely) that his hair is green. It doesn't even come right and say it. Chloe just mentions something about liking how he doesn't look like most other doctors because of his hair. But if Chloe did start describing more of how the characters in the book looked like, it would get rid of the kind of choppy feel to the book. That feeling is what gives you an insight into how Chloe thinks and it makes the book really interesting to read.
House Rules
Jodi Picoult
Pg. 117

One aspect I would change in this book would be how the chapters are laid out. In this book there are not really chapters they go by, but it goes by characters and what they are saying. So one chapter at the top says Jacob, another chapter says Emma, and another says Theo, etc. I get confused sometimes because it goes back and forth a lot because what the characters are saying are only about a page or so long depending on what they are talking about so it takes me a while to comprehend okay what just happened and how is this next person going to react to that and where they are at in that situation. I would change this because it can easily mess up a person whoever is reading, in my opinion. I think if they would only have 2 characters talking that would be fine because you would be able to keep up with both of them easily, but by having at least 5 characters speaking throughout the book, it can get really confusing at times. This change would affect the other elements of the book because then you would not be able to tell what a minor character may be thinking because they are not part of the chapter anymore, and by having that I think that could make the book more suspenseful as well. It would also affect the elements because then by having only the major characters of the book talk, you can get more out of them and not just what other people around them are thinking about them.
For One More Day
Mitch Albom
pg. 160

If I were to change one aspect of this book it would be not to have so many flashbacks, or to organize them into a different way. This would help me to understand the book a little better and be easier to understand everything that is going on. The flashbacks are important though and thats what most of the book is; Charley looking back on his life when he is an older man. I wouldn't change the flashbacks and what happens in the book, only the way in which the story is told. If I were to change something other than the organization of the book, it would probably be the ghosts. It makes the book very interesting when his parents reappear and it is important in the book, but I like reading about more life-like situations, and in my opinion, this is not very realistic, especially the way it is described in the book. It would affect this book a lot if his parents didn't reappear because that is one of the main events that takes place. If they didn't reappear, I'm not sure how the author would write the book because it would affect the other events in the plot. He might have had Charley's parents live and then Charley might not be so upset about life and try commiting suicide. Although, if his parents were still alive it might cause more problems with Charley, his sister, and his divorced parents.

End Of book

If i could change one aspect of the book it would be the action. There would be more fights and arguments and the games would be more drawn out with better details. This would just change how much I wanted to read it. It would make me want to keep turning the page. It would also change how you see the characters. Hampton, the main character, would seem like a whole different character if he got into more tussles. It would make the reader feel more sorry for Hampton and what he is going through. It could also change him to make him look like a bad person. It obviously would also change the plot and make it more exciting.

If I could change one thing, I would change the plot of the book a little bit. I didn't think that the book had very much action and it got extremely boring at times. So I would add more conflict to the story maybe a more dangerous journey and maybe some more wild animalswould attack him on his journey. I might even add that he got frost bite and had to cut off some of his limbs or he got hurt by a wild animal. There are quite a few things that I owuld change to the plot of this book to make it more interesting.

Indiana Jones and the Philosopher's stone
by max McCoy
The one thing that i would change about my book is the fact that it takes place in the late 1930's. I would make it a more recent bom with more recent bad guys. The nazis were very bad and he has to deal with them in every book. It gets old and really repetetive. If this book took place in a more recent time period the technology could be better in the book. The author has to countinualy use old technology such as a lantern instead of a flashlight. The plot would also be better. It would relate more toward the adiance that reads the book now. We have learned do much about the ?Nazis that we are tired of them.

If I could change one thing in this book, I would change how the chapters are laid out. In this book, they don't really have chapters, there is just headings with a couple paragraphs until the next heading. Doing this doesn't give the book much information and makes it really hard to follow. There is so much going on. If you changed this, the rest of the book would make more sense and be easier to follow along with.

At this point I would change the wording of the story. Half of the words in the story make no sense to me. The author has a very advanced vocabulary that is way over my head. Also, it refers to many places I have never heard of because it takes place in Sweden. I wouldn't change the references to the places, but maybe have the author elaborate for those of us who have no background knowledge of Sweden. I would want the vocabulary changed to make the story easier to read for people like me with a limited vocabulary. If the vocabulary is changed it would make the novel less unique, because the large vocabulary used engages the reader, even if it confuses me most of the time. I would want to add in more of the setting details, but on the downside it would make the story pretty dry and slow for those who already know about Sweden. These changes wouldn't affect the setting, plot, or characters, it would just affect the reader and how much they enjoy the novel. Mostly they are just changes that would make the novel easier for me to follow.

Scorpia
Anthony Horowitz
pg 95-110

If I could change one thing about the book, I think I would bring Sabina back. In the last book she moved to America and both her and Alex were sad. She's the only one he has really told about his spy life except for the boy he's in Italy with now, named Tom. Tom is another of Alex's friends but you can tell he's not as comfortable with him as he is with Sab. I wish she was still in Europe because she made the book more relateable to a female audience. She added some comedy to the constant adventure and with her there, Alex wasn't so stressed out. He even went on vacation with her to the south of France in the last book and it really impacted both of them. By bringing Sabina back, maybe Alex wouldn't be in so much trouble now. SCORPIA is sinking its teeth into Alex, and I feel like if he had Sabina there, he wouldn't take so many risks. There would probably be more slow paced scenes but I think it would balance well.

Picking one thing to change in this book is difficult...There are many things I would have liked to change. First off, I would have liked to change Haven turning all evil on Ever. Haven was a nice person until she vowed to kill Ever. Ever tried to reason with her just before Ever "died". If this change would have happened, Haven and Ever would have remained friends. They would still be hanging out and spending time together. Haven was very nice person until Ever fed her the elixir. So another thing I would change, would be that Ever would not give Haven the elixir...If Haven didn't have the elixir, Haven would have died, but it would have been for the better. If she did die, Ever and Damen would have been finally be able to be "together" because Roman would have given Ever the antidote...This can get really confusing and complicated to understand if you haven't read the books. In addition, I would change Jude dying. I liked Jude and he just recently died because Haven killed him. Haven threw him across the room and shattered his bones. If Jude wouldn't have died, Ever would have had to make a choice between Jude and Damen which would make it more difficult...Jude is such a nice person and I hated how he had to die. There are a lot of things I would change it the book, but the one I would want to change the most is Jude not dying.

My big event is still the fact that Tommy is missing and Mr. Habberman becomes more and more suspicious. It all began when Tommy threw a desk across the room and was kicked out. And the next day he never came back to school and has been missing since. It is important because it is the main conflict in my book and because he is friends with the main character of my book. It has affected the characters because they are so worried about him and constantly want to know more about why he is missing and solving the crime. It affects the plot cause every time something new comes up it is helpful or worth no good information and so it is the decision in what the boys make.

What has been the most important event in your story thus far? Explain the event, why it is important, and how is has affected the characters and plot.
Not much exciting has happened in my book so for so the most important event so far probably is that Carli came to Winchester and is undercover as Shelia. Two people already know of her true identity, and she had to audition for a play and got the role. Because she is an actress undercover, people might recognize her when she stars in the play. It is important because it is the main plot of the whole book so far. She wouldn't even be at Winchester and the people that she has met and all of her friends there wouldn't know her if she didn't come to get a better insight to her acting.
Dewey

pg. 92

The most important event so far would be finding Dewey. Finding Dewey is the center of the whole story. It's important because Dewey affects every ones lives, and for a cat, that's a big deal. If it weren't for them finding Dewey, the town of Spencer would still be in a slump. He has mainly changed Vicki's life. Vicki had a hard time because her husband left her, and Jodi, her daughter, doesn't rely on her anymore. Now she has some one who needs her, helping her get her life back on track.

The most important event in the story so far would have to be when Louie's crew are flying over the ocean and their plane breaks down and they crash into the ocean. They were searching for other downed aircrafts in an old, junky plane called The Green Hornet and it broke down while they were over the ocean. They had to land on the water and everyone except for one person survived. The rest got on life rafts and are currently awaiting rescue. This is the most important because it sets the stage for the rest of the book and it adds to the books theme, which is to never give up, even if the odds are against you. This event sets up Louie's fight for survival and will have an impact on his fame later on. Without a doubt, the characters have all changed from this accident. Some payed the ultimate consequence which was their lives. The survivors changed how they lived after the crash and how they acted for the rest of their lives. It made them better people since they had see what it was like to have nothing and be forced to survive. It made them more thankful for what they had. The plot hasn't changed a lot since I just got to this event in the book and I haven't seen all of the consequences yet, but it changed a some; mostly how I described earlier.

The most important event in my story so far is probably the kidnapping of Peter Solomon. It really affects everything that has or will happen in the story. Taylor has been a big aprat of her life after that. He is always around and taking care of kyle and demise. Taylor is falling in love with demise and demise is falling in love with taylor. The whole book is based around that one event and the events that came despit of that. So that if why that event is so imporant, without it there would be no book.

For One More Day
Mitch Albom
pg. 140

I would say their are several important parts in this book so far. First of all, Charley's parents get a divorce. Back then, it was not common to get a divorce so Charley was picked on about this. His mother was known for only that and people did not like her because of it. Later, his mother dies. Charley once again goes through a tough time and explains all the times he has and has not stood up for his mother, along with the times his mother has not stood up for him. Charley gets very depressed and tries commiting suicide several times. Somehow, he lives. His mother then returns as a ghost. Charley is lost and doesn't know where to go from here. This affects the plot a lot because this is pretty much how the story goes so far. These events are important because it would not make an interesting story without them. Something crazy has to happen in a book to keep the reader wanting to contiue reading, and in this book, those events cause me to wonder what is going to happen next.

Maximum Ride: The angel experiment

The most important event in my story so far is Angel being kidnapped from the group of kids. It is a very important event, because if it would not have happened then the book would change completely. Angel is the youngest of the "flock" of kids. The reason I say flock is because they are genetically mutated children that were kept in a laboratory called the School until they escaped. Angel's kidnapping has affected all of the children, because they are all extremely close and even though they are not related they consider each other family. Her kidnapping creates the whole plot of the book, which is to get her back safe and sound. Without this event, the book would have to be completely rewritten and retitled, and I think it would change a lot about how the characters act and feel. There is a lot more hatred and anger toward the professors that kidnapped her, and if the event didn't happen the kids might be more likely to fall into a trap and be kidnapped, or worse.

I would say the most important event so far is Fiver's prediction about the Sandelford Warren's destruction. Fiver is this little rabbit who is really weak, but is kind of psychic. He has a vision that the warren he lives in is going to be destroyed by humans. He and his brother Hazel round up 9 other rabbits and leave to find a new home, which is the plot for the first part of the story. This event is pretty much what started the whole plot.

The main event was the battle between the Loriens and Mogadorians in the little town of Paradise, Ohio. John was the next in line to be killed by the Mogadorians, so they had hunted him and were intent on killing him. However, Number 6 (another Lorien) showed up, along with a few humans to fight them off. It was seven against about 300 with the Mogadorians having the upper hand. They fought in the town using whatever they could find such as knives and guns. They fought for hours and finally after the Loriens had defeated two of the large beasts from the enemy side they released yet another beast. This beast was different though because it had been abused to great lengths by the Mogadorians. John has the ability to communicate with animals so he convinced it that the only way to stop the Mogadorians from starving the animal again was for him to kill the Mogadorians. It was an important part because if the beast did not cooperate the Loriens were all going to die along with the human race. A lot was a stake at this point. Since the beast cooperated the Loriens were able to escape Ohio and continue to train to defeat the Mogadorians. This event basically ended the book.

The most important event in my story is that Hood's dad came back into his life. Before, Hood was just another kid from the projects without a father in the picture. He was a drug dealer and only showed up when he wanted money. Which was often. Hood didn't want him there sometimes. But others, he wanted so bad to see his dad at a basketball game of his. Then when his father came home, he was a new man. He started showing up to Hood's games. At first, Hood was hesitant to welcome him back, because this was how it always was. He would show up, then leave when he had had enough. But this time was different. He started taking pictures at the games. And he even made shirts for the parents. Hood was a new man after his father came back.

The definitive event in the book so far has defiantly been Alex meeting the woman in charge of the terrorist organization, SCORPIA. Mrs.Rothman ran into Alex when he snuck into the gala that was being held at her house, the Ca' Vedora. He had gained interest in this particular house and woman when he saw her navigating the canals of Venice in a boat with a gleaming scorpion embossed on its hull. This was enough to excite his interest and follow her through the city to her house. He soon heard about the party she was going to be holding and knew he had to be invited. Instead of the traditional way, he of course steals an invite from another patron. He successfully gets into the party, but crashes it quietly. He ends up in an office with a live tiger and soon he is face to face with Mrs.Rothman. This is the turning point. Now he learns what exactly the destiny Yassen said was his is all about. He is informed that his father worked for SCORPIA, not MI6. What he chooses to do with this information will affect the whole plot, and he decides to walk in his father's shoes. He becomes a part of SCORPIA and is about to begin learning how to kill for a lifetime.

I am not very far in this book, but the event that has come up so far was that Ever and Haven had a "conversation" about senior year. It was mainly a signal Haven sent to Ever to meet her in the bathroom to have a discussion or more like so Haven can threaten Ever. Haven is a mysterious person and is obviously not giving away any clues as to what her plans are for getting revenge. Haven tries to intimidate Ever, and it doesn't work at first, but towards the end of their discussion, Haven gets upset and throws Ever across the room. This scares Ever because this proves Haven is a great deal stronger than her. Also, if Haven wanted Ever killed right away, she would have done it right then when she had the chance, but she didn't. Ever quickly gets worried when she figures out how strong Haven is and how she doesn't really know what powers Haven possesses. This really doesn't change the way the character's feel about each other. Haven already hates Ever and gets her point across loud and clear. Ever is starting to get scared of Haven. The two used to be very good friends, but that has changed dramatically after all that has happened. This changes the way the plot is going...This means that Haven knows something that Ever doesn't know, and Ever must figure this out. It leaves us guessing what is going to happen next.

In this book an old lady named Olivia is dying and is torn between telling a family secret. Olivia's deceased cousin Catherine is about to be beatified but Olivia holds evidence that Catherine had a child. Her mother promised Catherine she wouldn't tell anyone, but Olivia found out. A young woman named Monica is Catherine's granddaughter but she doesn't know, only Olivia knows. Olivia struggles to decide whether she should tell Monica who her blood relatives are. The most important event is when Olivia decides to tell Monica the truth. THis would change Monica's life and her blood relatives. But when Monica goes to meet Olivia she finds her dead. Olivia only told one other person she was going to tell Monica, her doctor. But her doctor works for Catherine's child's relatives. If the world were to find out that Monica is related to Catherine, then she would receive the fortune and not the relatives. so the relatives have Olivia silenced. Monica still wants to find out about her ancestors so she does some digging on her own and I think she will find that Olivia was murdered.

The biggest event in my book so far would be Nora is stuck in the middle on nowhere. Some homeless old lady came and took all her stuff, like her coat. She calls Patch to come pick her up, when she see's this old lady get shot. She immediately runs away from the crime scene to notice, it was Patch's vehicle. 5 minnutes later Patch comes to pick her up. He is in the exact vehicle that the person who shot the old lady was. She didnt ask him anything about it right away. When she did though, he confessed everything to her. Throughout the whole story the guy who was trying to kill her was Patch. He was a fallen angel who needed a human body to defeat the main angel. But Becca wouldnt let him have it. She ran away from him and they left eachother.

Once Upon A Prom. By: Jeanine Le NY. Mrs. Sheffield. Period 7. Nellie WIlson.

The most important conflict in my book is the Prom theme decision. Tara wants a Van Gough prom theme. And, Jenny wants a "Once Upon a Time" theme. They both are fighting back and forth. Jenny is bringing the principal into the argument. So far this has affected Jenny and Tara's friendship. This is also causing struggle between Tara and her friends. Tara is going crazy because prom is close and Jenny's idea is so original. Jenny just wants to make Tara mad and only for the attention. I agree Jenny's idea is so original. Tara's idea is neat, new and exciting.

I would say that the most important part of this story so far is when the dog fell through the ice and went into the river. It's not a good thing, but it saved the man's life because he knew now not to go that way. If the dog didn't lead then he wouldn't of known the ice was thin there and would most likely be dead because of hypothermia. So without this the book would of ended a long time ago because the man would be dead. So this is a very important part of the story.

I would say that still, the main event that has ever happened was his dad leaving him and his mom when he was a baby. He was just born and the dad wanted nothing to do with him so he packed his things and left them. It is important because it has completely changed his and his mothers life. The mom just goes out with different guys every week, and it makes him sad. He has no father figure so goes through life with no guidance. This has changed his mentality and his drive to succeed in life and on the football field. It has made him a good football player and a stand out player for his team. This has also made him hate his mom, so his family is not even really a family which is sad. This event has changed his families life.
The Glass Castle

End of Book

The most important event in this book I thought was when all of the children left their own home because they could not stand living with their parents anymore and moving away so they could have a better future and make life their own way and not the way their parents want them to live. This is important because now the children can take care of themselves and not worry about thier dad who drinks all the time and their mom who does not want to get a job and just sits around all day. They all made their lives better because they got an education by going to college and excelling in it. By the end of this book, they all got their jobs and they started a family. They all hoped they would raise their children different from how their parents had raised them when they were kids. This has affected the characters because they are much more happy with their lives now than they ever have been, they do not have to rely on their parents anymore; they get to make their own money and make a living for just themselves and no one else in their family like they use to. The plot was affected because once all of the kids got out of their old house that their parents had lived in, their parents realized what good lives they could have if they put a little effort in their lives instead of doing nothing all day. The parents ended up becoming homeless, even though their dad got lots of money by playing poker, he was generous enough as to give his kids the money even if he was homeless because they were more important to him. Being homeless affected the parents because the dad got very sick and ended up dying in the end, and the mom was starting to make more money on her art, unlike she had before. So, in the end, by moving out of the house and starting to get their own jobs and education brought forth many different opportunites for the chidren that they never had before.

So far I would say the most important event would be Nick getting brought up to the varsity catching position. Nick is only a 7th grader, and under the coaches rules, he is not allowed to play up. The original catcher is out on injury and the coach has heard that Nick is a stud. This is a real turning point for Nick. Nick is put on the spot since the coach has bragged him up. This is also important for Nick and showing what he has, and now the season depends on him. This has affected his friendship with his jv teamates. Also, his mood is greatly affected because he has done terrible so he is crabby at everyone. The plot has changed because its a totally different atmosphere from the JV team, moving to the Varsity.

The antagonist in my book is Elliot. He tried to persuade Nora more than once to dump Patch for him. He kept telling her that he was trying to kill her and it was really him. He threatened her that she was going to kill her friend just because Nora wouldnt go camping with him. He has that tough guy personality. He acts as though he is "king". He also is very good at telling girls what they want to hear. Such as "the world would never compare to you" or other sorts of cheese ball sayings.

They don't believe that what he is doing is good for the greater whole. They don't belive that he is helping society by helping individual kids from the projects. But they are wrong. Eventually he will have made a huge impact and it will be visible to the outsider's eye. They argue with him because they don't know what it takes to do the jobs that he does. They don't know the rigors.

Unbroken
Laura Hillenbrand
Pg. 214

The antagonist in this book is different with the different stages of Louis's life. When he was young, the antagonist was the poor lifestyle. It forced him to steal to get food, and it taught him some bad habits. This brought him down and made him feel left out at school. He didn't have very many friends he because he was poor and he was known for being a thief. The antagonist later when he is in the military fighting in World War II is the Green Hornet, an old, broken plane Louis and his crew had to fly when on a search mission. The plane was doomed from the start. It barely could stay in the air and the crew called it a flying coffin. Sure enough while they were on the mission, the plane failed and they went down in the ocean. The plane was the antagonist because it almost killed Louis, and it did kill some of his friends. It made forced him to survive while surrounded by sharks. It also affected his parents and the parents of his fellow crew members. They were told they're sons were missing in action and it ruined their lives at the time. For these reasons, Louis's poor upbringing and the Green Hornet are the antagonists in this book.

There are many antagonists throughout the course of this story, with the main one being human society. In this world, vampires have only been known by humans for a matter of years, and are still somewhat of an enigma. Many people are skeptical of Bill and Sookie's relationship, as vampires are seen as dangerous and don't typically engage in full-fledged relationships with humans beyond blood drinking and/or physical relations. For these reasons, society possesses several rather negative traits; a good majority are judgemental, uninformed, and violent. They outwardly oppose the supernatural world and those associated with it by using harsh slang names, publicly spreading lies, and even murdering vampires.
The Invisable Man

There is not a protagonist in this book unless you count society. The invisable man is the only antagonist, he steals money to pay for rent and he beats people up whenever they say that they do not believe that he is invisable. When he does confront people willingly they usually don't believe that there is a man talking to them, they think that they've gone insane. When they say this he gets frustrated and punches and kicks them, sometimes he throws rocks to make them believe that he is invisable.

His grandfather just had his leg cut off and it slowly recovering but needs help. With Tree gone all of the time his grandpa cant get the help he needs. This is sad because this grandpa is more of a father than his dad is. His mother also makes Tree switch schools every single week and he cant make any friends. This book doesn't really have a specific antagonist. I think it is partly do to the fact that it doesn't have an individual as a protagonist. It's just the town and team in general. The antagonists would just have to be the different towns and schools competing against Fall River (B.M.C. Durfee High)
All these towns look up to the Durfee program. I would compare it to the Madrid football program. All the surrounding towns want to achieve what they have achieved or even beyond that. The antagonists are very important to the plot of the story. Without them Durfee wouldn't be what it is. No matter how "good" you are, you'll be nothing without someone to play against.

In this book the antagonist is Denise. She is the main character in the book. She is falling in love with Tyler. She is always taking care of her son Kyle, and she has a job that she goes to everyday. She lives a everyday life. But Tyler is getting further away from her. He is slowly losing interest in Denise. He is scared of commitment, and he deals with that by pushing Denise away. I would say that Tyler is the protagonist. Demise is a caring, loving and kind person. She cares for everyone, and is always trying to do what is best for her son, kyle.

The society Trixie is living in and centered around is her own antagonist. Trixie Stone is her own antagonist. She is constantly trying to live up to everyone's expectations and base what she believes in around everyone else. She can not see that she is capable of being her own person. Her parents push her to be the best she possibly can as any parent would, while her ex-boyfriend pushes her away and leads her into a world of hurt and brokenness. All of her classmates do not try to lift her up or lend a hand. Instead, they just live their everyday lives and watch hers fade away slowly. Trixie lets her society control who she is becoming. Her parents try to do what they believe is best for her, but in the end it just leads to Trixie running away and adding more pain. Her ex-boyfriend makes her self-confidience shift to almost nothing, and because he pushes her away Trixie hurts herself more and more. She self-inflicts her pain and does not realize she has the power to make it all stop.

There isn't really any antagonist in my book. My book is about how Drew Brees gets injured. There isn't an antagonist in my book. I am not really sure what to put.

The antagonist in Charlie St. Cloud was Tess because she ruined Charlie and Sam's relationship. Her traits are that she distracted Charlie from Sam's life. Tess is the antagonist because she started to make Charlie pull away from seeing Sam. And Charlie and Sam had made this promise that they were going to play catch everyday and help sam improve on his game. Tess distracted Charlie by him falling in love with her and he got so distracted that Sam started disappearing from Charlie's life. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

There are many antagonists in my book, because the main characters are looked down upon. The antagonists with the most impact are the workers at the laboratory where my main characters were worked on and tested. The workers have bad traits like selfishness and greed, because they mutate the kids so that they can make a profit for themselves. These people are still chasing after Max, the main character, and all of her friends because they escaped from the labs where they were testing on them and they are not supposed to be known about. The other group of antagonists would be normal people like you and me that look down up0n the kids simply because they are different. The children were genetically mutated to have wings and avian-like abilities, so they are seen as "monsters" by other people.
For One More Day

Mitch Albom

pg.115

The antagonists are the main character's mom and dad. They are aggressive parents who fight a lot and have many issues. They get extemely mad at eachother and eventually seperate. Back then, a divorce was not common so people would look at them as bad people. I don't believe they oppose the protagonist, Charley, on purpose because I don't see why parents would want to hurt their kids. But they push Charley to his limits and make him very mad. When he sees his parents fight he gets frusterated and angry. When he was kid he would turn to cigarettes. When he was older, he got very suicidal. He started to not stand up for his mother any more and would yell at her. The antagonists are opposing Charley because they have problems with themselves and with other family members.

Prompt: Who or what is the antagonist in your book What traits does s/he (it) have? How and why is the antagonist opposing the protagonist?

Miracle on 49th Street
pg. 150

The antagonist in my book right now is Josh Cameron. He is a profesional basketball player and the main characters dad. He just doesnt believe that yet. Molly is his daughter and she use to live with her mom untill she died, so now molly is trying to get Josh to believe that she is his daughter. Josh is being a jerk to her everytime that she tried to talk to him. He is cocky and a hot shot. He is the best player in the NBA and he lives up to his standards. This makes him think that he is king of the world. He shuts molly down all of the time and gets in the way of her goal. She wants to have a dad. She keeps trying to talk to him but he leaves or ignores her. Overall this brings the mood of the book down and is a bad person.

Lord of the kill

The antagonist in this book would be the people that keep killing and messing with the cats in the preserve. I dont really know the traits of the antagonist because he/she is still unknown. I would assume the antagonist is messing with the protagonist because the protagonist father has been messing with people he shouldnt be messing with.
Scorpia

The antagonist has kind of switched in the book at this point. This is thanks to Alex's decision to switch sides. He is now training with SCORPIA, a terrorist organization in Italy. Now the British government is against him, in some ways. They don't want him to be a part of SCORPIA, but they also don't want to kill him since he has been such an asset to them in the past. MI6 hasn't treated Alex the best in the past, but this is a completely different matter. They need to preserve his safety and at the same time get him to change his mind about SCORPIA. Being fed lies from every angle, Alex is caught up in more than he can handle. SCORPIA wants to train him to be a killer, but he knows he can never be that. MI6 is desperate to get Alex back, and SCORPIA isn't very willing to give him up. A child spy is something more than one national security force has taken advantage of in the past, but now that he is in the hands of a terrorist organization and doesn't look like he is going to come back to the agency who betrayed him.

The antagonist in my book would have to be the killer that Cross is chasing or Death, as he likes to be called. He is an attractive, caucasian man in his thirties with a love for killing other attractive people. He works at the British Embassy in Washington DC and he can barely ever focus on his work. All he can focus on is the "game" he plays in the Southeast DC area on the weekends. It's all he can do to escape his work and his perfect little family that he hates so much. He has actually become obsessed with his "game" and enjoys nothing more then getting into his crappy, old cab and searching the city for victims. The biggest mistake that "Death" had really made in his killing game was murdering a nurse that Cross was really close with. That murder is what got the attention of a few other detectives who then joined Cross in his off-the-books investigation.

I would say that the antagonist would be his mother. She is always pessimistic and is always getting down on her son. She never tries to help him and comes home with a new guy every week. I believe she is being the antagonist because she doesn't want him around because his dad left him and she feels like her son is his dads responsibilty so she won't help. She just pushes him aside and never wants to talk to him about anything. She needs to care more about her son so he will grow up and do something with his life, unlike her.

The antagonist hasn't been told yet other than Susan having trouble figuring out what to do. I really haven't read enough to determine a character as a antagonist. There really isn't an antagonist because every one loves cats. No one can hate a loving cat. If I had to find an antagonist, I would say it would be mother nature. This takes place during the farm crisis causing people to be in bad moods and also it causes people that have fallen in love with Dewey to move away and not experience the love a cat. Mother nature is uncontrollable and has both positives and negatives. The farming crisis caused two very different effects. It brought depression and hard times, but it also brought families and friends together.

The main antagonist hasn't been introduced yet. I know it will be General Woundwort, but I can't describe him because he doesn't come in until later. This story is about rabbits, and they have their own mythology and words. They have this word "elil" which means "enemies", and they often say they have 1,000 of them. Rabbits are hunted by animals like humans, foxes, badgers, and dogs, and these "elil" are kind of minor antagonists. They are just natural prey for a lot of animals.

The antagonist of my book is the book that Michael and the boys are reading. The book shows the traits of conflict and comfort all at the same time. Conflict because since their friend has died the book tells the difference between reality and fake. So the boys can narrow down what facts are true and put them down. It shows comfort because if the book doesnt have something that was reality then they know it is a fake fact and can cause relief for them. The antagonist is opposing the protagonist because the book is helping and hurting them.

The antagonist in my book is Haven. Haven was just recently turned into an immortal by Ever, who now regrets her decision to turn her. Haven's beauty is pulling people into her and making them be on her side of the situation. She was recently considered an outcast at school, but now is on the A list, or at the popular table. Haven is only driven by self desire to be the center of attention and only does the things she does really to just get attention. Haven is opposing the protagonist and is trying to get revenge on Ever for killing the one she loved, Roman. She believes that is the only way to remember Roman in a way. Haven was really 'close' to Roman and learned everything about immortality from him. Haven feels that Ever lied to her all this time about the immortals and that Roman was the only one to tell her the truth. Haven just really hates Ever and is willing to do anything to destroy her.

I am not quite sure yet who the antagonist is because I am not very far in the book. I know there is an antagonist because there have been people scheming about Monica Farrell. I think someone is planning to kill her but I'm not sure. The antagonist just talks about a hitman and doesn't want her talking, so I'm assuming they want her killed. Monica is related to some rich man who just died. I think the antagonist is someone related to him and doesn't want Monica getting an inheritance. The trait the antagonist possesses is greed for money and will do anything to get it.

The protagonist is Alex Cross and Sampson. They are the two good guys in the story and they are trying to catch Gary Soneji. Alex is a family man and Sampson is a work-aholic. They both know Soneji is a very bad guy and they feel compelled to catch him and put him in jail. I think Alex wants to catch him more then Sampson does because Soneji is almost stocking him. Alex and Sampson always seem to be one step behind Soneji, but Soneji doesn't know that Sampson and Alex know that he has AIDS. So eventually he will die weather they catch him or not.

The protagonist isn't so much a person as it is the fact about that certain person. However, there is also another conflict that could be considered the protagonist. Darcy is missing. She was the RA at their boarding school. She was very responsible and popular and she was the least expected to go missing. Some people believe that she wanted to start anew and that's why she ran away. Carli and Fun believe hacked their good friend, Nails', email and read that she could have been murdered. They think that it might be him. Also, Carli is undercover as Sheila. Nails knows about it so he might spill her secret. There really isn't a person who opposes against them, except for Nails. Which in both cases Nails looks suspicious. The only reason that he may have murdered Darcy is because she is his ex-girlfriend and he is holding a grudge against her. There isn't a reason why he would expose Sheila/Carli, unless to hold it as a threat against her to get something that he wanted.

He is looking to have Robert Langdon solve the masonic pyramid because it is the one thing his father forbid him from doing. In my book the antagonist is a group of people against Hunter, the protagonist. These are Sanson and the new secretary to the governor at Port Royal, Hackett. Hackett is an arrogant guy that only isn't killed by now because of the position he holds in the government. Hackett is Hunter's antagonist because he thinks Hunter is a pirate. Hunter somewhat is but the Governor has always thought highly of Hunter. This brings special opportunities for Hunter to go on excursions that the government helps pay for. Sanson, the other antagonist of Hunter wants the treasure for himself. Because of this he does everything possible to either leave Hunter behind or get him arrested. He is a greedy liar that always tries to get his way even if he's wrong.

The Glass Castle
Jeannette Walls
Pg. 164

The antagonist in my book is Jeannette's dad and also his mother, Erma. The traits they both have are determination, frightening, and shameful. The protagonist in this book is Jeannette, his daughter. Jeannette's dad (they have not gave him a name) is opposing Jeannette because he is always listening to his mother, Erma because if he does not then they will not be able to live with her anymore. Jeannett's parents one day left to go back to their old house in Phoenix to pick up things they had left behind while they were going to Erma's house. While they were on their trip, Erma was doing inappropriate things with her grandson. Lori had walked into the room and starting hitting and punching Erma and Erma retaliated and they got into a huge fight. Their grandfather walked into the room to break they fight up (he was a quiet man). Then, once the fight was over, all of the kids were forced to go down to the basement and live there for the next few days until their parents came back and then they had to move out of the house. When their parents finally came back, their dad had found out what had happened from Erma and he went down to the basement and started yelling at his kids. Saying it was all their faults they got sent to the basement and they should not disobey their grandmother. Their father was too busy listening to Erma's side of the story that he did not give the time of day to their kids and actually listen to what really happened that day. So, they all had to move out the next day. The kids were relieved they did not have to deal with Erma anymore, but they still had their dad to deal with. They would hope maybe he would get a little nicer and less demanding now that he was away from his mother.

Safe at Home
Pg. 96
I would say that Nicks antagonist could be himself or baseball. Nick is really struggling with himself and moving up to the varsity team. He is trying to hard to prove himself to the team, and he will not just play the game. Therefore, baseball could be the conflict. Protagonist would be Nick, the main character with the problem. Nick is trying to get his coach to send him back to JV, but the coach is making him work hard, and helping him after practice so have that spot. Nick needs to stop fighting himself and play the game.
Beastly
Alex Flinn
Done with book
The antagonist in my book would have to be the main character himself. A spell was put on him by a witch that made him transform into a hideous beast. Much like the one in the movie Beauty and the Beast. Kyle, the main character, used to be perfect. He was tall, had blond hair, blue eyes, and a perfect complexion. His dad was also a famous newscaster, so he had money too. But then he made the mistake of making fun of a witch. (He didn't know she was a witch.) Then she turned him into a beast. He hated himself and thought he was going to be that way for the rest of his life, since the only way to break the curse was to get a girl to fall in love with, and kiss him. He thought that all that mattered in the world was looks and money. He thought his life would be miserable. But then he started appreciating the little things in life, like beautiful roses, and books. Because he had nothing else to do. If he went outside he would be hunted down. But then he meets Lindy. Well, he kind of forces her to live with him, since her father broke into his house, and Lindy staying there with Kyle was going to be his payment to Kyle so Kyle didn't turn him in. Kyle learns to love Lindy, and in this process, he becomes a better person and actually cares for the people around him.

I Am Number Four
Pittacus Lore
p.90

The antagonists in this book are the Mogadorians which are an alien race. They have strength, hatred, and determination. They started out by nearly destroying the Lorien race (another alien group). The reason these aliens started to attack the Loriens years ago is still not given in the book. However, now they are going against them to completely destroy all Loriens. If the remaining Garde (aliens with special powers) get their powers before the mogadorians catch them they will be able to fight back against them. The Garde members don't completely have their powers yet so they have to stay hidden. The Mogadorians want them dead (for no specific reason why) so they continue to hunt them on Earth. The catch is that they may only hunt the nine Garde members in order of their numbers starting with one and going to nine. John is number four and is the one who is hunted now. He is the protagonist at this point and must stay out of sight from the Mogadorians or they will simply kill him on the spot to continue to eliminate the Lorien race.
