Living Dead In Dallas

Paige Boston
Living Dead In Dallas
by Charlaine Harris
pg 178

There are many antagonists throughout the course of this story, with the main one being human society. In this world, vampires have only been known by humans for a matter of years, and are still somewhat of an enigma. Many people are skeptical of Bill and Sookie's relationship, as vampires are seen as dangerous and don't typically engage in full-fledged relationships with humans beyond blood drinking and/or physical relations. For these reasons, society possesses several rather negative traits; a good majority are judgemental, uninformed, and violent. They outwardly oppose the supernatural world and those associated with it by using harsh slang names, publicly spreading lies, and even murdering vampires.
