Maximum Ride
I'd have to say the biggest external conflict in my book is Max Vs. the physical pain and suffering she has to go through when she is fighting. There are half human half dog monsters called erasers that are after her and they cut and hit and bite and kick and they don't stop. At the beginning of the book she is injured very badly from these monsters, and continuously has to deal with the physical pains that they cause her. These physical pains frustrate her, and help lead to some of the internal conflicts of the book.
