Walking up a Rainbow
by Theodore Taylor
pg 26

There really isn't a major external conflict at this point in the book. They just finished a trial over how Susan Carlisles parents got killed and where see was at the time. This has been finished now and she is fighting with herself to decide what to do without her parents. She has had several ideas that aren't very good like trying to take after her dad and become a doctor but that and a lot of her other ideas wont work because shes a girl. There hasn't been a option that i would choose yet because they just wont get her very far.
