The Tenth Circle
Jodi Picoult
Finished

The society Trixie is living in and centered around is her own antagonist. Trixie Stone is her own antagonist. She is constantly trying to live up to everyone's expectations and base what she believes in around everyone else. She can not see that she is capable of being her own person. Her parents push her to be the best she possibly can as any parent would, while her ex-boyfriend pushes her away and leads her into a world of hurt and brokenness. All of her classmates do not try to lift her up or lend a hand. Instead, they just live their everyday lives and watch hers fade away slowly. Trixie lets her society control who she is becoming. Her parents try to do what they believe is best for her, but in the end it just leads to Trixie running away and adding more pain. Her ex-boyfriend makes her self-confidience shift to almost nothing, and because he pushes her away Trixie hurts herself more and more. She self-inflicts her pain and does not realize she has the power to make it all stop.

  1. I have read a couple of her books before, and each one has been really good. This is a book that sounds interesting. i think i might read it. It sad to hear that trixie is letting other people control her, and that she doesn't have self confidence.
