Prompt: Who or what is the antagonist in your book What traits does s/he (it) have? How and why is the antagonist opposing the protagonist?

Mike Lupica
Miracle on 49th Street
pg. 150

The antagonist in my book right now is Josh Cameron. He is a profesional basketball player and the main characters dad. He just doesnt believe that yet. Molly is his daughter and she use to live with her mom untill she died, so now molly is trying to get Josh to believe that she is his daughter. Josh is being a jerk to her everytime that she tried to talk to him. He is cocky and a hot shot. He is the best player in the NBA and he lives up to his standards. This makes him think that he is king of the world. He shuts molly down all of the time and gets in the way of her goal. She wants to have a dad. She keeps trying to talk to him but he leaves or ignores her. Overall this brings the mood of the book down and is a bad person.

  1. This is sad. More and more these days, professional athletes are becoming less of role models and more like plain old rockstars. They are getting in trouble and becoming more self-centered.
