Dewey
Vicki Myron
pg. 84

There really isn't an antagonist because every one loves cats. No one can hate a loving cat. If I had to find an antagonist, I would say it would be mother nature. This takes place during the farm crisis causing people to be in bad moods and also it causes people that have fallen in love with Dewey to move away and not experience the love a cat. Mother nature is uncontrollable and has both positives and negatives. The farming crisis caused two very different effects. It brought depression and hard times, but it also brought families and friends together.

  1. This sounds like a very heartwarming book! I think that mother nature would be a good antagonist, but is there really no one that doesn't love the cat? It's surprising that there is not that one person who goes against everyone else and decides to hate the cat. Is this the memoir that you are reading?
