I think Oliver, the husband, is the easiest one to place. He would be a whale because he spends so much time with them more than his family. He seems to understand them so much better than humans. I would make Jane a puppy because she usually follows her husband around, but sometimes she gets distracted and wants to do her own thing. I think Rebecca is the hardest one, but I decided she could be a cat. She is usually nice, gentle,and loves life, but when she gets angry her "claws" come out or she'll run away.
