The character that changed the most in this book, was the character Laurie. She started off in the beginning as a shy, innocent girl who was content with being herself. Once she is asked out by a senior, and gets the feel of a popular lifestyle, her behavior and her actions change. She turns from a sweet, young girl into a mean and bossy snob. She soon realizes at the end, that this is not the way she wants to live her life. She then tries to change back into the person she was before.
