Songs of the Humpback Whale
By Jodi Picoult
pg 135

I chose to read this book because I have heard many good things about Jodi Picoult's books. I have only read one other of her books and I really enjoyed it. This was the first Jodi Picoult book I saw on Mrs. Sheffield's bookshelf, so I decided to read it. I think the book is good, but not as good as I thought it would be. The last book of hers I read was so entertaining I couldn't put it down. This book seems to go on forever. When I read 3 pages it feels like 10. I like the story line, but it's told out of place. It took awhile for me to follow what's happening. I'm wondering why the author wrote it like this, and if it will make the book end well.

  1. Interesting! I've heard the same thing that Jodi Picoult's books are amazing; I'm surprised this one isn't very good. So why does it seem like its told out of place?

  2. This book is one of her older ones, which may explain why the style seems different. Try _Change of Heart_ or _House Rules_, which are two of her more recent releases.
