The major external conflict in my book was between Trixie and her father, Daniel. Daniel Stone was constantly trying to keep his daughter safe from life and her own choices. After Trixie's ex-boyfriend was charged with rape against her, Daniel did everything in his power to keep people from harming Trixie. He did it so much that it led to Trixie running away from home, harming herself, and him losing his daughter more than he ever imagined. In the end, however, Daniel got his act together and continued to fight for his daughter. He followed her tracks to his hometown in Alaska that he dreaded his whole life. He thought he would never return, but he was there for his daughter and to help her because that is what a father does for his child. He puts his children's needs before his, and because of these actions, I was impressed with Daniel's actions.
