Elizabyth Ladwig
Beastly
Alex Flinn
pg. 54
I would talk to the main character, Kyle. The first question I would ask him would be, "Why are you so mean to others?" His dad is a news anchor, so his family is rich, and Kyle is one of those popular kids who thinks all people should adore him. He's always pulling horrible pranks on others and seems to get a kick out of it. The 2nd question I would ask would be, "How did you find out about the chat group online?" He was turned into a beast by a witch that went to his school, because he invited her to go to the dance at school with him, but then he stood her up in front of everyone there. Then, to deal with his current problem, he joins a chat group created by a Mr. Anderson to help people who have been transformed into different things. The last question I would ask would be, "How do you think you're going to find a girl who can accept and love you for who you are?" The witch said the only way for him to break the curse was to have a girl fall in love with him (while in his beast form) and kiss him.

  1. Do you have any answers to these questions? Do you think you know what the character would say? Do you think it could be fate that a mean guy like Kyle would be transformed into a beast? What kind of beast is he?

  2. This kind of reminds me of Beauty and the Beast.

One thing I don't get is, how is getting a girl to fall in love with him despite what he looks like really going to teach him a lesson? His whole problem is being a jerk, how is this really going to change that?
