A Man Named Dave
By Dave Pelzer
pg. 1 to 8 (finished previous book in trilogy)

Dave Pelzer is the character that has changed the most. When he was younger, he hated his mother. He used to call her mommy but once she started beating him, he started calling her The Mother. He went through a difficult home life and finally got enough guts to leave. He went to court and had to tell the judge that he didn't want to live at home anymore. That wouldn't have been possible if he was asked that question when he was a couple years younger. He talked to Ms. Gold who helped him understand that he wasn't a Bad Boy and he deserved better. She helped transform Dave into a man who is loving and cares. Dave is an amazing character.

  1. I've heard about this book, and it seems like it would be hard to be Dave. He pretty much had to change his whole life it looks like. What does he do since he doesn't have to live with his mom anymore?
