Daughter of Fortune
Isabel Allende
p. 276

Eliza Sommers has changed the most. In the beginning of the book she was just a rich 19th century girl living the normal high class life. Then when she meets Joaquin Andieta, she becomes obsessed with love. She hides away on a ship, breaking all sorts of society's rules. She becomes a wandering miner in California, posing as a boy. She doesn't do anything expected from a high class girl.

  1. Wow, she has really done a 180! Do you think she always had that adventurous spirit in her or did a major change bring it about suddenly?
