Driving With Dead People
Monica Holloway
pgs 179-244
A majority of the book takes place in Ohio in the 70s and 80s, where the Monica lives with her family. After she graduates from high school, the setting begins to change more, as she is allowed more freedom and travels more. In later parts of the story she goes to graduate school in California and is able to experience new things in a slightly more stable environment. I think that if the time period and location were changed, many things would be different. Her father might have been less cruel had he been raised in another time and place, which would result in changes in Monica's childhood and decisions.
