The Special Prisoner
Jim Lehrer
pg: 150
If i could choose any animal to portray Henry, the main character, i would have to chose a bald eagle. Bald eagles represent our country as a whole, as well as honor and dignity. He show's this aspect not only by simply being in the military, but not giving in to the japanese as they torture him so rigurously. One day the japanese force all of their prisoners to yell "Roosevelt's dead! Hip, hip, hooray!" He is the only one who doesnt say it, and he pays the price, and his stomach is scarred forever. The leader of the japanese at the camp's nickname is literally the hyena, so well i guess i would have to say he most resembles a hyena. The people called him the hyena because of the way he laughs.
